These 5 plays are built from our Base Formation series. It's not just about having lots of plays---it's about having a few great ones that build off each other and keep the defense guessing.
This is a glimpse of the exact plays I used to win a 5v5 championship 30-0 against teams that were faster, taller and stronger. These play are also adaptable in the shop for 6v6 and 7v7 teams as well. Here's how I did it:
Base 1 Run
Simple handoff up the middle. Establishes the run and sets the tone.
Base 1 Motion Z
Z (or X - flip) starts off in motion. QB hikes fast and hands in directly to Z (or X)
Base 1 Motion Run
Same setup, but this time the RB takes the handoff after fake to Z. Speed and surprise.
Base 1 Quick Pass Center
After setting up the run looks, this play fakes the handoff to the RB and hits the center deep. The defense bites, and we score.
Base 1 Pass
Throw this play out there after run is established for quick 1st downs or TDs.
Base 1 Run Live
Base 1 Motion Z Live
Base 1 Motion Run Live
Base 1 Center Pass Live
Base 1 Pass Live
These five plays are part of a complete system. They feed off each other, forcing defenses to commit—and then punishing them for overcommitting. It’s not just about trick plays—it’s about layering concepts to stay unpredictable.
